Baby Doll questioning Pierott Grenade at the Canboulay Re-enactment 2010

The Baby Doll is another traditional carnival character. Sometimes portrayed by men, the masquerader would dress as a baby doll with pacifier or bottle, and baby girl clothing. The baby doll would stop unsuspecting men, mostly European looking and ask to know whether he was her father. It was a mocking statement at a very serious topic of whites having out-of-wedlock babies with black women and abandoning them.

Cowboys depicted rogues and heroes from old American Westerns. They were gangsters with typical Western film names and would often use monologues similar to those of the Midnight Robber.
