Beelzebub with his Book with all the names of his subjects.

The Bookman is a traditional carnival character that holds a leading role of sorts in devil mas. He wears an ornate gown and carries a large book and pen with which he writes prospective names of souls for the devil. The gown and cape are large and often contain biblical verses or images, and the mask, intended to resemble the devil, is over-sized and a caricatured image.
