Been hearing snippets of inspiring notes here and there this week. They are littered throughout our lives even when we can’t see them. For instance, the news of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry awarded to Robert Leftkowitz and Brian Kobilka. Leftkowitz worked on this seemingly obscure area of chemistry for decades. In the beginning no one “who mattered” believed in him (and I put quotes because mattered in this case means, the people who had the power to make important decisions about his career, his work, an aspect of his life, but really they didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things since a. they were so wrong and b. he prevailed in the end). The above photo was an opportunity that led to subsequent shots until just the right one. That one is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. A piece of it adorns the banner of this blog. Sometimes opportunities surface quickly and easily and if you’re lucky it happens often. Sometimes they occur after long, disgusting, protracted, disheartening journeys. 🙂 I hope you find one soon.
Enjoy
