Carnival 2013 opened this morning in the pre-dawn ritual of the re-enactment of the Canboulay riots. If you missed it, I’m sorry. It was very good.

Where did this take place? Lovely, making me wish I was home every time you place these photos. Thanks for keeping us informed and depressed at the same time. So much talent and spirituality in our carnival. I don’t know if people recognize the spiritual part of it in every genre. Blessings.
Thanks (I think :-)). Don’t want to depress you. These were taken at Picadilly Greens, East Port-of-Spain – the original site I believe, where the Canboulay riots took place.

Yes. I had the opportunity to speak briefly with Pearl Eintou Springer, who wrote and directed much of the re-enactment. I expressed those sentiments to her.
