BdC 22/42 Red Cross Kiddies Carnival

So much to see and share from the wonderful Red Cross Kiddies Carnival in Port-of-Spain yesterday. For now we’ll just share the big titles. Above, Mackenzie Penco won Red Cross Queen of Carnival 2013 with her costume Moon Glow, from Rosalind Gabriel’s band Lost in Paradise, A Fairy Tale. Below Armando Sham Poo won King of Carnival with his costume Ching Chong Come Fly With Me.

For the Red Cross Kiddies Carnival competition first prize winners and Most Original are chosen from each age category, boys and girls from 6-8 to 12 -15. I must say I believe girls 12-15 is an impossible category to compete in and even more so to judge. It is the largest category by far for girls, who are generally confident, seasoned masqueraders and so many of the costumes are amazing.
