Kiddies Mas in Guaracara

I’ve been repeating this theme of the poem Monday’s child for a couple weeks now. It begins “Monday’s child is fair of face.” Fair is an old word used to mean pretty, that has also come to describe light skin. But we all know, and curvy blogger Afrobella reminds us, there is loveliness in “all shades of beautiful”. Here’s another image of a pretty little black girl. We’ve got to keep countering the results of doll studies.

Enjoy
