Here is a quick clip from the Paramin Blue Devils at the old time carnival following Canboulay at Picadilly Greens, east Port-of-Spain for Carnival 2015. The image above was featured in an exhibit, Light of the Ancestors, in Washington DC in February-March 2015.

For those of you new to this space you can find information here on Devil mas and by clicking here for the Blogging de Carnval series. Incidentally, I’m very much alive on social media. Find my images on Instagram and Tumblr. They are all slightly different iterations of my work. Additionally, I shall be periodically be updating the Studio Lafoncette Photography page with stock images from public events, such as the Emancipation Day parades.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the absolute slow down in blogging on this space. Photography has not stopped, to the contrary, there is so much of it, and I am in a different environment now. These two things contribute to the lack of posts. For those who have missed it, I do apologize. I am recommitting to posting again. To start, I will be scheduling several posts that should have come out during the Carnival 2015 season, including some videos such as this. As I’ve added equipment I’ve gained the capacity to shoot decent quality video (quality of the technology, not my skill). Please forgive the shaky and short bits as I adapt to the technology. I consider still photography to remain my primary focus, but I am interested in filming things too. Moreover, as I’ve captured many of these events in the past – even though no photo or amazing photo opportunity is ever repeated – videos are a refreshing addition to the archive. I hope you think so too.

Enjoy
